KFMC Announces New Leadership
Permanent President and CEO and Vice President of Operations have joined the KFMC team
The Kansas Foundation for Medical Care (KFMC) is pleased to announce Karen Braman, R.Ph., M.S. as their new President and CEO. Braman will begin her tenure on December 1, 2015. Additionally, KFMC has hired a new Vice President of Operations, Jerry Huff, JD, who began on October 7. Both new members of the leadership team plan to lead strategies to strengthen KFMC’s position as a catalyst and trusted partner in the improvement of health care.
Karen Braman has dedicated her career to improving the quality, safety and affordability of health care offered to the individuals and institutions she has served. “As President and CEO of KFMC, I will successfully lead the organization to achieve its full potential as an innovator in transformational health care and strengthen its position as a catalyst and trusted partner in our state and region,” she stated at the time of acceptance. Most recently, Braman led a team for Express Scripts, Inc., managing clinical benefits and formulary for six Medicaid plans across multiple states. Additionally, Braman held multiple roles while working for the State of Kansas for over a decade. She worked in a variety of Director and Manager level positions in the departments of Health Policy Authority, the Governor’s Office of Health Planning and Finance, and Medicaid; and served as President of the Kansas Board of Pharmacy, as well as Chair of the Kansas Health Information Exchange Board. Braman received her Pharmacy Degree from The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, and her Masters of Science from The University of Kansas.
Jerry Huff has over 20 years of experience in supervision, law and finance. Through his diverse experiences, he has successfully blended his analytical and tactical skills to contribute to the success of the organizations he has been a part of. “I look forward to providing input into organizational and strategic planning in my role overseeing finance and information systems security at KFMC,” stated Huff. Before coming to KFMC, Jerry helped spearhead the vision and implementation of key projects and initiatives at the Kansas Board of Regents as the Director of Kan-ed. Jerry received his Juris Doctorate (JD) at Washburn Law School. He is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE).
