Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative Formed to Target Urinary Tract Infections in Long-term Care Facilities
We are excited to announce that KFMC Health Improvement Partners and Kansas Department of Health and Environment Healthcare Associated Infections/Antimicrobial Resistance (KDHE HAI/AR) Section are partnering to form an Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative directed at improving the diagnostic practices and treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in Long-term Care Facilities (LTCF).
A limited enrollment of LTCF will be accepted. Each enrolled LTCF will have a dedicated facilitator who will set up a series of meetings with our subject matter experts (SMEs) and the LTCF’s implementation team or program leader to help guide assessment, planning, and implementation of the program at no cost to the facility. The UTI Program is designed around five components for the assessment and management of UTIs in non-catheterized residents to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use.
The flyer provides additional program details including timelines, expectations, and an enrollment application. Enrollment is limited and closes on March 15, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Loretta Fitzgerald at KFMC.
